The 77th Festival de Cannes will open its doors in two days. In a small survey, we asked Cannes travelers what they expect from this year’s A-festival in the South of France. Torsten Frehse, Managing Director Neue Visionen, takes a look at this year’s edition.
The 77th Festival de Cannes and its Marché are just around the corner. Do you think it will be a good year? Is there a film you are particularly looking forward to?
Torsten Frehse: The Cannes 2024 programme promises a few surprises, as it is not just the usual suspects and, in combination with the quality standard typical of Cannes, real discoveries can be expected, both in the Competition and in the Certain Regard and side sections.
What are your expectations and what’s on your schedule?
Torsten Frehse: Even though we already have a strong programme this year, we are already looking forward to an exciting Marché du Film and the festival programme. Neue Visionen is also focussing on even more content expansion in the near future and Cannes is always a good starting point for this.
