Box office Germany: Here comes „Chantal“; sixth number one for Bora Dagtekin

„Chantal in Wonderland“ has shot to number one in the German cinemas. Of course. Bora Dagtekin’s sixth directorial effort achieves the second-best start of the current year and the best start for a German production since Dagtekin’s previous film, „A Perfect Secret“ from 2019.

A closer look…

Also interesting/important/notable:

• Second best new release: the new „Paw Patrol“ special with 70,000 visits – second best start for a “Paw Patrol” special so far.

• One more new release in the Top 10: „One Life“ in 9th place (25,000 visits with sales of 250,000 euros; plus 15,000 admissions from previews); „Wicked Little Letters“ makes it to 11th place (19,000 visits with sales of 180,000 euros; plus 7,500 tickets from previews).

• „Ella and the Black Jaguar“ is – sensationally! – on the verge of passing the one million admissions mark – the fifth film to do so this year.

• Convincing: German/Austrian production „The Glory of Life“ (director: Georg Maas, Judith Kaufmann; screenplay: Georg Maas, Judith Kaufmann; production: Tempest Film, Lotus Film) has already achieved six-figure admissions overall.
